Do you have anything romantic planned for New Year's Eve?
Zooey Deschanel is hinting at her intentions, posting a "Video Chat Karaoke Special" on HelloGiggles, the creative, female-oriented entertainment site she co-founded with Sophia Rossi and Molly McAleer.
The video features the indie dream girl and her 500 Days of Summer costar Joseph Gordon-Levitt wearing their party best while singing a duet cover of Nancy Wilson's "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?"
Can you imagine anything more adorable than a tiara-topped Deschanel playing a ukelele alongside a dimpled Gordon-Levitt strumming a guitar?
The actor's smooth voice gives M. Ward (Deschanel's partner in She & Him) a little competition, and enough sweet smiles and longing gazes are exchanged between the two to spark rumors of a romance — especially after Deschanel's sad split from Death Cab For Cutie front man Ben Gibbard in early November.
But Deschanel simply describes Gordon-Levitt as a friend:
I have known Joe Gordon-Levitt for going on 12 years. We first met in the summer of 2000 while doing a tiny movie called Manic, where we bonded over a mutual appreciation for Harry Nilsson and Nina Simone and I have been lucky enough to call him one of my dearest friends ever since. When we did 500 Days of Summer 8 years later, we spent every lunch hour dancing to Marvin Gaye in the hair and make up trailer; we had loads of fun. I hope to do a thousand more movies with him because he’s simply the best.
