Ever wanted to peek inside an interior designer's home and see what they come up with when untethered from clients' needs? You can do that (mostly – there are a couple of homes here that aren't the designers') at this weekend's first Austin Interiors Tour, presented by Scott + Cooner, California Closets and Tribeza magazine and benefiting LifeWorks

The self-guided driving tour is Saturday, January 25, 10am-4pm. Featuring the work of Austin-based designers Amy Lutz, Clarissa Hulsey Bailey, Kim West, Mary Korth, Rebekah Gainsley, Roni Koltuniak, Thomas Bercy and Tracey Overbeck Stead — most of them in their own homes — it also offers a chance to talk furniture, color, texture, light and more with Austin's best.

Attracted by her porch arrangement, people were literally knocking at TCU grad Kim West's door when the designer moved back to Texas. West gravitated to interior design after working all over the world with such fashion heavyweights as Jil Sander and Marc Jacobs. She's an adventurous and fearless designer, too, with bold and stunning results.

Clarissa Hulsey Bailey

écrumoderne owner Hulsey Bailey is equally comfortable with residential and commercial design, having recently done projects for South by Southwest headquarters and retail store Kick Pleat. Her design reflects her passion for the Moroccan and Mediterranean — not surprising, since she lived in Marrakesh, Morocco, for a time, working as an exporter of furniture and design items.
