Soup's On!
Austin favorite The Soup Peddler heats up new outpost on Airport Boulevard
It's a new era for rapidly changing Airport Boulevard which welcomes its newest eatery this week, The Soup Peddler. Serving up freshly made soups since 2002, the Airport location is the fourth for owner David Ansel, who is proud to offer quick, healthy cuisine to Hyde Park, North Loop, and surrounding neighborhoods.
With locally sourced ingredients and a slow cooking process, The Soup Peddler serves diverse options like the Green Goddess (broccoli, celery, and spinach); Texas-favorite Frito pie with veggie chili; and classic chicken soup with rice. Stocks are cooked overnight, a plus for those seeking the healing properties of bone broths. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are always available as well.
But it's not just soup! The juice and smoothie list is extensive and a little cheaper than the reigning local juice joints. Try options like the Busy Bee, which contains bee pollen, or a banana and peanut butter smoothie made with rice milk. With add-ins like Himalayan salt, guarana, and Emergen-C, even the most discerning guests will find something to sip on.
The Soup Peddler joins fellow Austin veteran The Omelettry in the Concorde Shopping Center alongside billiards destination The Grand. While bike delivery is a thing of the past, The Soup Peddler partners with Favor to bring soup and juice to those looking for quality food on the go.
You can get a first taste of the new location on Thursday, January 21. For other on-the-go options, check out our guide to fresh, fast food in Austin.
