What: Seventh Annual Tyler’s Dam That Cancer

Where: LCRA Lawn next to Hula Hut

The details: On Monday, 160 paddleboarders took to Lake Austin waters to complete a 21-mile, dam-to-dam journey that kicked off the philanthropic party of the summer, benefiting the Flatwater Foundation. After the journey, paddlers were greeted by an additional 500 partygoers, as well as beer provided by KCCO, sparkling wine from Mighty Swell, and a DJ set by Abe the Assassin.

Tyler’s Dam That Cancer attendees partied with NadaMoo! ice cream, cocktails, Stiles Switch BBQ and Brew, and good company like Taylor Ellison from K-EYE's "We Are Austin" and Flatwater Foundation's Mark Garza and Chelsea Hardee.

Live auction winners walked away with swag including a 3DR drone, vacation packages, and an inflatable Tahoe Bliss stand-up paddleboard. The Flatwater Foundation raised $515,000, surpassing its $500,000 goal — and raising $140,000 more than last year. All proceeds from Tyler’s Dam That Cancer go directly to Flatwater’s commitment to providing mental health therapy and family support for people affected by a cancer diagnosis.
