Austin Fashion Week closed with the Austin Fashion Awards Saturday night at the Austin Music Hall. The "Golden Boot Award" was given out in the Rising Star, Trailblazer and Mashup Team categories. As expected, the runway presentations served as the highlight of the night, with Margarita Saplala (New York), Kendra Scott, Ross Bennett and Jessica Ciarla each holding the audience captive.
Sandy McIlree of Mix 94.7's popular JB & Sandy morning show served as emcee of the night.
Dawn Younger-Smith of Boudior Queen was a recipient of the Trailerblazer award for her work as a designer. Gary Dorsey, who presented the award, said "no one summons the spirits of silent era cinema quite like Boudior Queen."
