We knew that one lucky —and very, very generous — Aggie would get a chance to go home with the ultimate sports-themed vanity plate, but who knew that it would go for six digits?

Yesterday, we gave an update on the already record-setting $35,000 bid on a limited edition 12THMAN license plate up for auction on MyPlates.com. But before the auction closed at noon today, there was a true bidding war. The MyPlates.com Twitter feed details the crazy numbers that piled on just this morning, with the auction hitting $42,000 around 10 am.

Around noon, the bid jumped to $69,000, and in the closing minutes bidding went back and forth before the auction finally closed at $115,000.

As previously reported, the revenue will go towards Texas A&M University and the Texas General Revenue Fund. The winner will be presented with the plate in a special ceremony before the Aggies take on #1 ranked Alabama this Saturday in College Station.

There's no telling if Johnny Manziel will be able to topple the Tide once again, but for one of the Aggie faithful, they'll definitely be driving off into the sunset in style.
