New nonstop flight takes off from Austin to top East Coast destination
Another destination has been added to Austin's growing list of nonstop travel options. On Monday, Delta announced a new flight from Austin to North Carolina.
Beginning March 9, 2017, Delta will launch daily, year-round service between Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and Raleigh-Durham International Airport. Flights from Austin depart at 11:15 am; flights from Raleigh-Durham to Austin are scheduled to depart at 8:30 am.
The service will be operated by GoJet using a CRJ-900 aircraft, which holds 76 passengers. One-way tickets starts as low as $113.
"This new nonstop connects two cities with a lot in common — a love of great outdoors, booming tech industries, and a diehard dedication to college sports. I hope this new connection results in North Carolina learning how barbecue ought to be prepared, but regardless I'm looking forward to a closer relationship with our new friends in Raleigh," said Mayor Steve Adler in a statement.
Delta is the fourth largest carrier at ABIA. The airline also offers nonstop service between Austin and Atlanta, Detroit, Los Angeles, Minneapolis-Saint Paul, New York, and Salt Lake City.
