A BURST OF COLOR
The crowd amassed near tents and even a Uhaul truck with people doling out healthy portions of color dust.

Pets were also part of the color chaos, they seemed right at home.

Austin runners show the world just how "colorful" they can be

A few weeks ago, hundreds of people proved that Austin loves "Keeping it Weird" by dressing up as gorillas for the Austin Gorilla Run. This Saturday, runners once again showed how colorful Austin athletes can be by exposing themselves to a color bombing.

Participants of the first annual Color Run, benefiting Habitat for Humanity, were painted with a non-toxic, all natural color powder (a food grade cornstarch) as they approached each kilometer of this unique 5K event. Runners became a beautifully colored canvas as they passed through each of the five "color zones" set up along the course in Walter E. Long Park.

The best part might have been the color bomb dance party at the end, where each runner got a color bomb to toss at participants as they crossed the final zone, creating an art gallery of participants at the finish line.

The 2012 Tour de Color Run is taking place in 20 US cities ,with the next stop in Dallas on Feb. 19. Check out this video and you'll quickly understand why this race is sellig out around the country:
