CultureMap Countdown - 30 days, 30 Artists

SXSW is the launching point for a many musicians' careers. Unknowns spend days lugging their equipment back and forth across downtown Austin in the hopes of being noticed at a showcase by a record label, influential publication or critic. For four days in March, Austin becomes a global melting pot of mind-bending music. To celebrate their talent and dedication, CultureMap is counting down 30 showcasing artists in 30 days from around the city, country and world, leading up to the start SXSW Music.
