Austin's most famous breakfast taco truck rolls into all-new location
One of Austin's most famous taco trucks is rolling into a new location. After nearly a decade on East Cesar Chavez, the owners of Veracruz All Natural are moving the brand's original trailer to Webberville Road.
Though no exact date was given, the owners expect to open at 2427 Webberville Rd., next to Fleet Coffee Co., early this year. Veracruz also hung a "We Are Moving" banner to let guests know about the trailer's impending relocation.
Owners (and sisters) Reyna and Maritza Vazquez took to social media to share the announcement, noting the famed school bus trailer is currently getting a facelift before the big move.
"Until we are ready to open up on Webberville we will remain open on Cesar Chavez," reads the Facebook post. "There will be no lapse in time between opening and closing, and we will keep you up to date, both on our website and social media."
Since 2010, Veracruz has parked at 1704 E. Cesar Chavez St., serving a menu of tacos, tortas, and house-made juices. But it's the company's breakfast tacos, specifically migas, that catapulted the brand to fame, including segments on the Discovery Channel and Food Network and write ups in countless national magazines. In 2017, celebrity chef Alton Brown even called the migas "the best breakfast taco I've ever had."
Austinites, of course, have long known the magic of the migas, and over the last decade, the Vazquezes have expanded their mini empire to meet the demand. Today, Veracruz All Natural has a fleet of four food trucks across the city, as well as a brick-and-mortar location in Round Rock.
No word yet on exactly when Veracruz will open on Webberville Road. CultureMap's request for additional details was not immediately returned. In its relocation announcement, the company said it will keep its social media channels updated with the exact date of the move.
