What: White Linen Night
Where: Downtown Austin's 2nd Street District
The lowdown: For the sixth annual 2nd Street District's White Linen Night, attendees donned their best summer whites to attend one of Austin's classic mid-summer soirées, complete with music, bites, and more.
Attendees sipped vino from more than a dozen wineries, including locally owned Infinite Monkey Theorem, while they strolled down Second Street. Shops on the trendy boulevard kept their doors open so guests could peruse, while chefs from nearby restaurants such as Forthright, La Condesa, Wu Chow, Yummi Joy, and Le Politique provided delicious snacks.
Austin's own Tameca Jones was among the evening's highlights, serenading party-goers with her classic R&B and soul tunes. Afterward, VIPs took over the W Hotel for a swanky after-party featuring Tito's cocktails, an array of rosé (an important addition to any summer shindig), and desserts from pastry chef Angel Castillo.
The evening was both a celebration of the downtown district and a benefit for local nonprofits the Austin Food & Wine Alliance and SafePlace.
