Golden Dawn Arkestra was started by Zapot Mgwana. They combine deep grooves and cinematic textures that Fortress fans will note as one of the most memorable performances of the inaugural Fortress Festival in 2017.
Adorned in shimmering regal robes reminiscent of intergalactic kingdoms of yore and featuring cosmic go-go dancers, the Golden Dawn Arkestra will keep your body moving on the dance floor while raising your consciousness past the outer most reaches of the cosmos. Inspired to exuberance by ritualistic practices such as processions, chanting, and the power of the music itself, the audience fallas into spellbound frenzies when GDA takes the stage.
Golden Dawn Arkestra brings their annual Saturnalia party to the Paramount with a masquerade ball commemorating the ancient Roman festival. They will be joined by special guest dancers and performers to honor the god Saturn with a carnaval atmosphere and plenty of revelry. Their first show at the Paramount, this occasion will feature Golden Dawn’s dramatic costuming and performance against the backdrop of the Paramount stage.
