The Cloak Room
The Cloak Room is a bar of interesting composition. It is an unmistakably dark, dank, subterranean watering hole without frills (but with a nice selection of high-end liquor) rumored to be frequented by politicos past and present while the Texas legislature is in session.
You never know what law may have been drafted over a few pints. However, don't be deterred by proximity to the Capitol if political activism doesn't fit comfortably in your wheelhouse. Inside the cave-like bar you can find a stacked jukebox, a knowledgeable bartender, about four tables and a general retreat from the outside world. Consider the Cloak Room your secret, low-key Austin asylum.
Bonus? Austin Pizza will deliver to the Cloak Room.
