Barton Springs is an oasis in the heart of the city. Found within Zilker Park, this spring-fed pool is a chilly 65 degrees year-round. The grass hills surrounding the pool prove ample ground for soaking up the Texas sun and defrosting from a cold dip.
Be warned, this is a natural pool, complete with plenty of algae patches. So, if you don't like "squishy things," it's probably best you avoid touching the bottom. And to ease any worrisome minds, there are open-water certified lifeguards stationed throughout the pool who are found carefully overseeing all activities, from the diving board to lap swimmers and tube-mongers.
No food or drinks are allowed inside, which may seem like a bummer at first, but the strict policy pays off in the form of pristine water and an overall absence of impurities.
The Entrance fee is $3 for adults, $2 for ages 12-17, $1 for ages 11 and under and $1 for seniors.
