Bullock Texas State History Museum
If you're new to Texas or just need a healthy dose of Texan pride, the Texas State History Museum is an excellent reminder of what got this state so sweetly obsessed with itself. Starting with that 35-foot bronze star sculpture out front, you'll realize why bigger really is better here. With three floors of unbelievable interactive exhibits, a daily special effects show, three movie theaters, and regular community cultural events, this venue is successfully bridging Texas's past and the present. After you've genuinely engaged with The Story of Texas, you can't help but feel a touch of state pride as well.
The IMAX Theatre is incredibly popular, so make sure to get your tickets in advance and arrive at least thirty minutes early to get good seats.
Also, the Texas Spirit Theater regularly screens films shot in Texas and invites their Texas-born directors and screenwriters to attend.
