Lady Bird Lake
Lady Bird Lake is an ideal spot for anyone willing to take in multiple facets of Austin's natural beauty at once. . Named after late First Lady Lady Bird Johnson, the parks surrounding the lake started as a pet project of Austin's then-mayor Roy Butler who reimagined the polluted water as a pristine place of wonder. Multiple trails around the lake give way to plenty of hidden gazebos and lounging locations, so the more time you spend at Lady Bird, the greater chance you have of making an intimate connection with the city itself.
