Trophy's has distinguished itself as the top South Austin location for hanging out when you want dark lighting, low-key but friendly bartenders and loud music. Far enough away from the cleaner crowds of SoCo's trendier spots, Trophy's is akin to your scuzzy old college roommate's apartment where you used to go to just hang out, smoke and listen music. The bands range from rock to punk to electro-metal, and it gets pretty loud and dance-crazy on some nights. Other nights, it's strictly jukebox; and others, open mic and karaoke. They serve beer in a can or wine if you're fancy, and cover is never more than $8. Expect to stand inside or sit out on the smoke-hazed patio out back. Either way, conversation is not really an option. You don't want to use the restrooms unless absolutely necessary. Just don't ask.
Mondays feature $2.00 PBR tallboys, and Tuesdays are $2.00 Lonestar tallboys during the hosted open mic.
Beer and wine only.
