Autopsy results in after shocking death of former Lake Travis student

The Dallas County Medical Examiner has released a cause of death for an SMU student athlete who died unexpectedly on March 18. According to the autopsy report, 20-year-old Hannah Catherine Moss died of cardiac arrhythmia, a heart condition that is not usually fatal.

Although arrhythmia can be brought on by illegal drugs, Moss' toxicology report came back clean and her cause of death was ruled as natural.

Moss was a sophomore business major and member of the Mustang track team. Her body was discovered at The BLVD apartment complex in the 5600 block of SMU Boulevard. Police broke down the door at Moss' apartment in response to a welfare check requested by a friend.

Moss grew up in Austin and graduated from Lake Travis High School in 2012. In an online obituary, Moss' family and friends praised her positive outlook on life and sense of humor. She is survived by her parents and two younger siblings.
