Fashionably Educated

Marie Claire's Front Row Challenge finalist Diya Liu creates magic and professionalism on the runway

U.T. student and budding fashionista Diya Liu (previously interviewed by CultureMap) was chosen among four spots to compete in the Marie Claire Front Row Challenge. Liu planned and created a fall fashion show complete with professional models along with hair and makeup.

Looking at the models, you can see cardigans and skinny belts are coming in strong this season.

Zanna Roberts Rassi, Marie Claire's Senior Fashion Editor, opens the packed show with a warm welcome.

The makeup for the show ranged from fresh and clean with coral lips to a heavier darker eye and lip.

Each look Diya put together seemed focused on today's real world and real women.

Of the four contestants in the Front Row Challenge, Diya says they were the only campus to get signed models and professional hair and make up artists.

The whole fashion show was quick and expressed Diya's personal style and rich jewel tones.

Afterwards, Diya came out to strut down the catwalk herself.

Thanking everyone for coming out, Diya ended the show with a strong "Hook em' Horns" with the crowd's support.

There were many reporters and video bloggers waiting for their five minutes with the very lovely and popular Zanna Roberts Rassi.

Guests mingled while reporters worked for their stories.

Downstairs the models take another opportunity to show off Diya's fashion creations.

After the fashion show ended everyone was welcomed downstairs for refreshments and conversation.
