Remi, Austin Pets Alive!'s adaptable office dog, is looking to transition into a forever home
Remi is truly a special animal. Currently being fostered by Austin Pets Alive!'s own office manager, Remi is a gem in the APA! community. This Catahoula Leopard dog mix, who is deaf, spends most of her days at APA!'s office, and is most comfortable in a pack setting.
"Remi loves coming to the office with me," says her foster mom. "At first she was a little restless and would bark at people who approached my door, but within a week I had her trained to sit and wait for a treat from any new visitor. Also now she mostly just curls up under my desk and waits for her walk at lunchtime."

Surprise fact: This sleek girl is deaf and can be slightly startled by the unexpected, but she takes it all in stride as she examines and explores the new thing in her life. She's working on learning to respond to hand signals and a pat on the shoulder.
What APA! says about Remi:
- Remi is a serene and elegant blue-eyed beauty who's unfazed by dogs, cats and kids.
- Since moving to her foster home, Remi has been ready to play with new dog friends. She's adapted well to her foster's cats and has been calm and collected while a cul de sac full of kids creates chaos around her.
Why APA! says Remi deserves your love:
- Remi is calm for a one-year-old, but she still loves to play and tag along wherever you go. She's also learned to not jump on furniture if she's not allowed to, but if given permission she loves nothing more than to cuddle with you on the couch.
In summary: Confident and companionable, Remi will do well in any family with cats and kids, and would thrive with a dog buddy to play with. She easily transitioned from a family home to a shelter to a new foster home, and now she's ready to find her forever home. See if yours is right.
