Fashionable Austin salon grows its roots with new location in Round Rock
Round Rock folks looking to mark "getting a new look" off their resolution list are in for a little treat: An award-winning Austin salon is expanding north.
Urban Betty is opening its third salon on January 16 at 3001 Joe Dimaggio Blvd, less than a mile from Dell Diamond. The salon is known for being a one-stop destination for all things hair and beauty, including facial waxing, lash treatments, chemical peels, and more.
Founder and owner Chelle Neff says in a press release the decision to open this location was based on clients’ feedback.
“Our first two locations have a vibrant clientele, and our clients have been begging us to open something north of Austin; it only makes sense to open a third location that follows the city's growth patterns,” says Neff. “This third location is a testament to how successful we have been in the past with our unique business model and stylist training program. I’m really looking forward to growing our services, team, and clientele through this new location.”
Urban Betty says it's been serving the Central Texas community for more than 25 years, opening the doors to its Austin flagship in 2005 at the 38th Street location and quickly establishing itself as a local staple, thanks to its knowledgeable team of stylists and aestheticians. In 2019, a second location opened on South Congress Avenue, followed by the launch of Urban Betty's clean hair care brand, which now has expanded into some beauty items and candles.
Neff's personal creativity surely has an impact on the business's success. She and her husband, David, run the Weird Homes Tour, showing off some of Austin's most unique private residences. Although Neff doesn't take it as far as the weird homes at Urban Betty locations, they do have fun, eclectic look. Many clients walk out with natural styles, but clients with brighter colors seem to match the tone of the salon.
“Things are so different now compared to when I opened that first location, and it’s amazing to see how far we’ve come,” says Neff. “It’s exciting to join a new community and welcome new faces to experience our one-of-a-kind services.”
The salon has stacked a few accolades over the years, including Salon Today’sStamp of Success for digital marketing, and recognition in its Top 200 Salons list. It also made it to Austin Chamber’s A-List Awards for "bootstrapping" in 2023, and regional Inc. 5000 lists for multiple consecutive years. Austin Chronicle readers took things into their own hands in 2008, 2010, 2022, and 2023 to vote it the best salon in town. (Even CultureMap has named it on a best-of list.)
Urban Betty Round Rock’s location will be open daily, 8:30 am-9 pm. For more information about services and appointments, visit urbanbetty.com.
