Stratford Hills is one of the most important luxury neighborhoods in Austin, or so says real estate agent Joe Longton.
And he should know, as he's been helping people buy and sell there for the past decade.
"I would suggest that almost every home in this neighborhood is under a major remodel," he says. "If not, the home has just completed a major remodel or is planning a major remodel. This is truly an estate neighborhood, with homes valued between $5,000,000 and $30,000,000."

Where to eat & drink
Mozart's on Lake Austin is a must. "You can sit out on the deck and have a coffee and croissants while looking over Lake Austin," Longton says.
Where to play
"The stunning and beautiful Zilker Park is right down the street, and you can paddle board, go to Barton Springs Pool, and visit the Zilker Botanical Garden, all on Stratford Drive," he adds.
What to see
Umlauf Sculpture Garden is definitely a hidden gem at Zilker Park.
Where to live
The home styles in this neighborhood range from traditional to contemporary, with sizes running from 5,000-10,000 square feet.
Typically, the traditional houses have been remodeled to reflect today's style — what was traditional is now transitional.
Many homes in this neighborhood have big views of downtown and Lake Austin, Longton says, and the lots are large and beautifully landscaped.
"Unfortunately, every home that sells in this neighborhood is sold private market," he says. "Call me and I'll share the secrets."
