KVUE -- An estimated 2,000 motorcyclists are rallying at the State Capitol. The group came roaring up just after 10 a.m. Monday.
The bikers came from all across Texas. They rode as one big group down 11th Street to the Capitol in support of bikers' rights. They hope lawmakers will push for legislation that protects them on the road.
It's a movement that started more than seven years ago. Since then bikers have been coming to the Capitol at the start of every new legislative session. They say showing up in numbers helps spread their message.
“The only way to make things better for us, as a group of folks that ride motorcycles [and] that choose that as a mode of transportation, is to unify. We've got a really bad public image based on some of the TV shows, the 'Sons of Anarchy' and the 'Ganglands' [sic], stuff like that that. We really do try to come out and show that we're not those crazy people on TV,” said biker and President of the True Few Motorcycle Club Sean Ross.
