Where:800 Congress
The Lowdown:Local style institution Fashion X Austin celebrated Texas style at the first annual Lone Star Fashion Show. More than 300 of city’s best-dressed attendees settled in at 800 Congress for a production featuring creations by designers from across the state. Texas notables Staci Henderson, LeeAnne Locken, and Lance Avery Morgan shared host duties while models floated down the runway. Ornate couture designs by Nha Khanh, Gail Chovan, and Mysterious by NPN wowed the audience and each showcase featured one Texas-inspired ensemble to pay homage to the show’s Lone Star theme.
Austin-based designer Chovan’s showcase featured a barrage of striking white and black looks highlighted by vibrant patterned ensembles and a couture feather-trimmed dress with a matching avant garde headpiece. Attendees marveled at daring evening gowns by Nha Khanh adorned with tulle, dramatic draping, and metallic appliques. Couture gowns and gorgeous architectural structure evoked fuzzy and fashionable vibes during the Mysterious by NPN showcase to create the perfect balance of fashion and art. The Lone Star Fashion Show set the tone for Austin Fashion Week, which is set for April 5-7.
