A new way to cool off is splashing into Austin this summer. Lake Travis Waterloo Adventures, an inflatable water park perched in the middle of Lake Travis, is slated to open on June 29 and will run through October.

The wildly popular 600-foot "floating challenge course" has already popped up in the waters around Houston and Dallas. Created by a German company, the Witbit offers obstacle course-like features, including climbing walls, monkey bars, slides, hurdles, balance beams, and bridges.

Priced at $50 per person, the tickets are a bit steep but include a boat ride out to the challenge course; 45-minutes of playtime (an additional 45 minutes can be purchased for $10); and all-day access to the aqua park area, complete with a 14-foot climbing tower, free fall water slide, a springboard jumping tower, and a 25-foot trampoline.

Hammocks and lounge chairs overlooking Lake Travis are also available for those looking to take a breather from all this fun, and food and beverages — including beer, wine, and frozen drinks — are available for purchase.

“We want to provide an opportunity for Central Texans to escape their surroundings and soak up 1000 feet of incredible lakefront and hillside views. Adventure Island will make you feel like you’re on vacation at an exotic location," said co-owner Brian F. George in a release. Along with John A. Shipley, George also owns the nearby Lake Travis Zipline Adventures.

Guests must be age 7 and up and at least 45 inches tall to experience the course. (And, we assume, should know how to swim.) The boat to the docks leaves from the aptly named Adventure Island at 14529 Pocohontas Tr. in Leander, and reservations are required.
