1. Here's how far a $100K salary goes in Austin for 2025. Even with Austin's reputation for a runaway cost of living, making six figures is going a bit further than it did last year, according to a just-released income study by fintech company SmartAsset.
2. New restaurant The Greek Bar brings Mediterranean flavor to South Austin. South Austin may be best known for Tex-Mex and taco trucks, but a new Greek restaurant has entered the mix. The Greek Bar, a family-owned Greek restaurant, opened February 26 at 534 E. Oltorf St.

3. 9 Austin hotels, spas, and eateries earn stars in 2025 Forbes Travel Guide. The prestigious Forbes Travel Guide, a global rating system for luxury hotels, restaurants, spas, and ocean cruises, has recognized 28 Texas properties on its 2025 awards list, including nine in Austin.
4. Austin hustles on new list of top 10 hardest-working American cities. Austinites are truly some of the most industrious Americans in the country, according to a new study ranking the "Hardest-Working Cities in America" in 2025. The Capital City ranked No. 6 out of the 116 total U.S. cities included in the report.
5. Central Texas' K. Spoetzl Brewery revives beer last seen in 1960s. Texas' K. Spoetzl Brewery, best known as the maker of Shiner Bock, has reintroduced its Texas Special American-style lager and added Texas Special Light on draft. It is only available in Texas.
