Cloud Tree Studios and Gallery will exhibit the work of multi-medium Austin artists Landry McMeans and Lily Timberlake.
McMeans is a full-time artist based in Austin with a passion for painting Sonoran Desertscapes. She is known for her cardboard three-dimensional relief work and hand-cut stencil prints evoking the muted psychedelia of the American Southwest—a region for which her love developed and deepened over 13 years as a touring musician.
Timberlake will have had a hand in all the work on display at Cloud Tree. Mid-pandemic 2020, she relocated from the Northern Rivrs region of New South Wales, Australia to Austin and began assisting in McMeans’ studio. Her earthen-hued weavings will star alongside McMeans’ frames. Timberlake works from a homemade tapestry-style loom, employing both traditional wool yarns and found materials, like thrifted old sweaters and even her own clothing, which she upcycles into weavings.
Following the opening reception, their exhibit will be on display until October 31.
