Visual Arts Center will present "Me At Market," an exhibition from Spring 2020 artist-in-residence Carmen Argote. The exhibition includes a site-specific installation that references the VAC’s unique architectural features and disrupts the division between inside and outside. The artist works with organic materials such as cochineal, citrus fruit, avocado, wine, and coffee due to their ties to specific forms of labor, histories of violence and oppression, and colonialism.
Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on display through March 6.
