Experimental music group New Factories presents an improvisational sound performance featuring field recordings taken from the Houston Ship Channel. Focused on the complex relationships between sound and place, the artists' work layers field recordings with prepared guitar and sounds taken in real-time from their immediate environment. Their performance will converse with VAC artist Tania Mouraud’s use of similar recordings in her new video installation, "Fata Morgana."
