Delivery Dreams
Favor app makes food delivery in Central Austin a snap
There’s never a lack of food options when you’re hungry in Austin. The main problem, however, is trying to get that that food to you. Thanks to one of the newest apps developed locally, you can now enjoy a meal from your favorite food truck, restaurant or grocery store without leaving home (or the office).
Favor is all about getting yummy food directly to you, so that grabbing a bite doesn't require leaving your desk or futon.
A runner from favor will contact you for confirmation and then pick up the order for delivery.
When you get that hankering for what will likely be tacos, send out a message including the store name and order details via the app. A runner from favor will contact you for confirmation and then pick up the order for delivery. You’re also free to text the runner so you can get an ETA on that pad thai.
You pay with a credit card on delivery. Each Favor costs $7, which includes a $5 delivery fee and a $2 minimum tip. (You can tip more through the app to throw some extra love toward your favorite runners.)
Favor currently serves the Central Austin area (with appropriate proximity to the University of Texas), with plans to expand in the future. Also of note, the app works beyond just restaurants and food trailers, meaning you can have fresh fruit and veggies delivered from the grocery store or farmers' market.
And if you're looking to earn some extra cash, Favor is still looking for more runners to work for them. All you need is an iPhone to work the app and reliable transportation.
