Luxury motor coach rolls out new service between Austin and Houston
Next year, commuting from Austin to Houston will get a lot easier — and more luxurious. Vonlane, the high-end Texas motor coach service, will add routes between Austin and Houston starting in January 2016, the Austin American-Statesman reports.
This first-class coach service is aimed at frequent Texas business travelers. Vonlane's roomy 16-seat buses boast an array of amenities that allow passengers to work or relax during their trip. Standard amenities include complimentary refreshments, WiFi and satellite TV; passengers can also reserve a six-seat conference room for meetings on the road.
"We created, in Vonlane, a more dignified way to travel that helps business people reclaim the productive hours that are typically lost when flying or driving between Texas cities," founder Alex Danza told CultureMap last year.
The Texas-based company, which launched in 2014, already has successful routes between Dallas and Austin and Dallas and Houston. Presented as an alternative for frequent flyers, a one-way ticket on this luxury liner costs about $100, comparable to average airfare between the three major cities.
Austinites can book travel to Dallas on the Vonlane website. The Austin-Dallas route picks up and drops off at the Hyatt Regency in Austin and Doubletree Love Field in Dallas.
