So You Think You Can Dance kicks off season 10 auditions in Austin
Cue the music. It's time to break out your leg warmers and hot pants, Austin.
So You Think You Can Dance is headed to the Long Center later this week to kick off auditions for its 10th season. On Friday, January 18, the producers will begin auditioning Texas' finest (funkiest, freakiest) dancers for the season, set to air Summer 2013.
The open call auditions start at 8 a.m. Friday with registration, after which dancers will audition in front of the show's producers. On Saturday, those with the most talent (or primetime TV appeal) will move on to the famed second round of auditions in front of the show's loveable cast of rotating judges.
You know the drill from there: Some dancers will automatically receive a golden ticket to the Las Vegas call-backs. Others will move on to the highly competitive choreography round for one more shot at a golden ticket. And the unfortunate masses? They will be tearfully sent home.
To audition, you must be a U.S. citizen and between the ages of 18 and 30. Just put on your dancing shoes, grab your audition music (in CD form), a dance partner (not required) and head down to the Long Center bright and early Friday morning.
Judging by past auditions, you might want to arrive before the sun comes up.
