SXSW punk pick: Eagulls choose Austin for only stateside tour stop
Mar 9, 2014 | 11:38 am
Name: Eagulls
Featured track: "Moulting"
Genre: Punk
City of origin: Leeds, United Kingdom
In one sentence: Refreshing post-punk ethos from a band that cares more about touring than fashion and nostalgia.
Why we chose them: The band is back on tour in support of the self-titled LP, which dropped in early 2014. Texas is Eagulls' only stateside stop, where the band will play the same official showcase as St. Vincent, Damon Albarn and Kelis (brought to you by NPR). Looking for a daytime set? Catch Eagulls on Saturday, March 15 during Laneway Festival's Holy Mountain party.
SXSW official showcase: 8:40 pm on Wednesday, March 12 at Stubb's
