KVUE -- A familiar Buda landmark will soon become a new entertainment destination.
The former Dorset Truck Stop, visible from Interstate Highway 35, is quickly transforming into Pinballz Kingdom, the latest business endeavor of Darren and Mikki Spohn. The Spohns opened Pinballz Arcade in North Austin in 2010, and they say the success of the business inspired them to open a new complex.
The new complex is complete with a live music stage, bar, restaurant, games and eventually go-karts and laser tag. It is located at a familiar Buda spot recognizable for its castle-like appearance.
A former tech entrepreneur, Darren Spohn says his new businesses grew out of his love of pinball. "I love the challenge of the game," said Darren Spohn. He hopes to cater to both to families and people in search of nightlife.
The couple hopes to open their latest venture by June, but they plan to continue to add to the 13-acre venue well into the future.
