A California chain with a focus on burgers, beer and whiskey is setting up shop in downtown Austin. Eureka plans to serve 40 craft beers, 40 small-batch whiskeys and un-fussy American fare in the former Logan's space on Sixth Street.
Initially slated for late 2014, Eureka is now on target for an April opening. And in its first Austin location, Eureka plans to charm locals not only with its food, but with live music, too.
"Eureka embodies what the city has to offer with an exciting ambiance while providing guests with exceptional hospitality, an innovative bar program, live music, televised sports, and a well-rounded dining experience for all to enjoy," said Paul Frederick, managing partner of Eureka Restaurant Group, in a press release. The restaurant will host events and musical acts throughout the week.
But what takes center stage at Eureka is the menu of American classics with a modern twist. The casual spot offers appetizers; all-natural, vegetarian fed, Angus chuck burgers; innovative salads and delectable desserts. Highlights include the golden ale mussels, the cowboy burger and the all day breakfast burrito.
The 5,000-square-foot space seats 200 guests and will be open from 11 am to midnight Sunday through Wednesday and 11 am to 1 am Thursday through Saturday. Eureka will host daily "hoppy" hours from 2 pm to 6 pm and reverse "hoppy" hour from 9 pm to 11 pm.
