As Austin restaurants scramble to stay in business in the wake of unprecedented restrictions, some are offering to-go adult beverages as a way to increase revenue. Treat yourself and support these locally owned spots at the same time.
ABGB
This South Austin brewpub is offering a variety of to-go drinks. In addition to $10 crowlers (32-ounce aluminum can) of its own beers, you can also pick up select ciders and bottles of wine. Black Star Co-op
If you’re in North Austin and in need of a good beer, stop by this co-op. Crowlers range from $9 to $14, and if you buy three you can save an extra 20 percent. Additionally, Black Star has 12-ounce cans of cider, hard kombucha, and other selections, along with bottles of wine that are 20 percent off. Casa Chapala
With Eldorado and Enchiladas Y Mas temporarily closing down, the next best place for margaritas in North Austin is this spot on 183 and Burnet Road. El Arroyo
A sign with a clever quip is not the only thing that this classic Tex-Mex spot is serving up; it's also got a to-go margarita kit. The kits are priced at $40 for six servings and come with fresh margarita mix, a bottle of tequila, Topo Chico, and chips and salsa. Select beers are available, too. Orders can be placed online.
Gourmands Neighborhood Pub
This choice spot on the east side has all kinds of combos to help quench your thirst. There’s a $75 Apocalypse Bar Set that includes four 375 ml bottles (Tito’s, Tanqueray, Herradura, and Jameson); a $35 margaritas-for-six kit; a $13 mimosas-for-four offering; and more. Jacoby’s Restaurant & Mercantile
Head to East Austin to get in on this spot’s variety of cocktail kits. Prices range from $20 to $79, and the mixes vary from vodka cranberries to palomas and specialized margaritas. Pickup is available from Thursday to Sunday, and beverage and food orders can be placed by phone at 512-366-5908.
Lenoir
If you’re on the hunt for a nice wine selection, then look no further than this South First Street gem. Sparkling, rosé, orange, white, red — Lenoir's got it all, and prices vary enough to work within your budget. Loro
It’s starting to heat up, so why not cool down with one of Loro’s $8 gin and tonic slushees. For those that would prefer a more standard drink, there are plenty of other options as well. Select bottles of wine and beer are 25 percent off, and batched cocktails kits are $40. This scenic neighborhood spot is usually where you’d spend an afternoon, but for now you’ll just have to swing by. Thankfully, the to-go drink menu is loaded with the restaurant's Back Porch Tea, Pavilion Margarita, Bloody Mary kit, and more.
