Name: Betty Who

Featured track: "Somebody Loves You" from The Movement EP
City of origin: Sydney, Australia
Genre: Pop
In one sentence: Big, bright arena-ready pop music for fans of Katy Perry, Robyn and Icona Pop.
Why we chose her: Betty's music is unabashedly sunny and made for the car radio during summer. Her new EP has two ready-made hits in "Somebody Loves You" and "You're In Love." Both hit all the same peppy notes that made Katy Perry a global star, with a dash of early Whitney Houston for good measure. A full-length album will follow later this year. She has also been chosen as Andy Cohen's house band for his SXSW "Watch What Happens Live" tapings (March 9 - March 13), meaning she'll be showcased alongside everyone from Paul Qui to Seth Rogen. You can preview several tracks at Who's official site.
SXSW official showcase: Betty Who will have an official showcase at SXSW, but the venue and time are currently TBA.
