Pet of the Week

Say hello to APA!'s Wilber, a cuddly cat who loves a good back massage

Wilber was rescued from a shelter in Bastrop after a long stay there, and in the short time he's spent at Austin Pets Alive! he has already left a big impression. The shelter staff absolutely loves Wilber for his infectious friendliness. It got to the point where his door now has a sign telling passers-by not to give him treats. (He is just too adorable to not be given a snack every time, so he's had to go on a bit of a diet.)

Name: Wilber

Sex: Male

Breed: Domestic Shorthair Mix

Adult size: Medium

Sign: Pisces

Age: 2 years, 2 months

Spayed/Neutered: Yes

Declawed: No

Adoption donation: $75

Location: Town Lake Animal Center

Surprise fact: Whenever his back is scratched, Wilber likes to "kiss the sky."

What APA! says about Wilber:

  • It's been nearly impossible for staff to walk by Wilber's cage and not want to pet him and cuddle him.
  • Wilber also loves to cuddle back and love without abandon.

Why APA! says Wilber deserves your love:

  • Wilber is very healthy, being heartworm and FeLV free. He couldn't be a more ideal addition to an equally loving family.

In summary: Wilber is an easy-going critter who just needs an owner who can dish out just as much love as Wilber can give. It might also help to have a petting hand that won't get tired too quickly.

To donate or adopt Wilber, call APA! at 512-961-6519. APA! also currently has a Furrever Fridays special going on, where cats over six months of age at the Town Lake Animal Shelter have their adoption fee waived with a monetary donation.
