Southwest launches new nonstop Austin flight just in time for summer vacation
Southwest Airlines is swooping in with new service to a summer vacation destination. The carrier will launch seasonal, nonstop service between Austin and Pensacola, Florida, this summer.
Flights, which take off June 10, will run every Saturday to and from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and Pensacola International Airport. Introductory prices for a one-way ticket are as low as $169.
This new Florida flight comes on the heels of another seasonal Southwest route to Panama City. Starting June 4, nonstop flights will run every Saturday between ABIA and Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport.
And the fun doesn't stop there: Southwest has also added more flights to two existing nonstop destinations. Come June 4, travelers can take advantage of an additional daily flight from Austin to New Orleans (Monday through Friday) and to St. Louis (Sunday through Friday).
The nonstop flight news out Austin has been nonstop as of late. Allegiant Air will introduce seasonal service to Destin, Florida, beginning May 4. And Delta will launch nonstop, year-round service to Seattle on June 12.
