Southwest launches nonstop Austin flight to summer vacation hot spot

Now is the time to plan that Florida vacation. In addition to Allegiant Air's new service from Austin to Tampa Bay and Destin, Southwest Airlines has announced a new nonstop, seasonal route to Panama City.
Starting June 4, flights will run every Saturday between Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport. Introductory prices for a one-way ticket are as low as $193.
This new seasonal flight also signals the return of Southwest's nonstop summer service to Portland, Oregon, and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The carrier also introduced a nonstop route to Albuquerque, New Mexico, last year and will connect Austin to Kansas City, Missouri, starting March 13.
Southwest isn't the only airline adding nonstop service in Austin. Other nonstop service routes coming soon include Allegiant Air's service to Cleveland and Pittsburgh and Delta's service to Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina.
