Bottle Alley Theatre Company & The VORTEX presents Wildcraft

Wildcraft is a one-person show, devised and conceptualized by Bottle Alley Theatre Company, and starring Miki Johnson. The play takes the form of an interactive class focusing on wildcrafting, a specific branch of green witchcraft which is described within the play as "a blend of the magical, the herbalist and the forager."

Located within the VORTEX's sunken gardens behind Patrizi’s, in an intimate environment, audiences will learn about herbalism, identifying omens in the wild, spirit gardens, and more. Not confined to simply storytelling, the audience will craft their own witchy items, including black salt, a witches' bottle, and their very own spell for spirits.

Longtime followers of Bottle Alley will recognize Wildcraft as the newest entry into their collection of plays revolving around the fictional Farm Road Coven, an ongoing storyline revolving around the last eight remaining members of a coven of witches. The storyline kicked off in Bottle Alley's 2017 production of The Curious with subsequent coven members being introduced (or returning) in 2017's Apocalypse, and most recently 2019's The Rain Sessions. Wildcraft introduces audiences to the coven's sixth member, December. Even though all of these works take place in the same universe, they are intended to be enjoyed as stand-alone works.
