Protestors on both sides of the abortion debate took to the Capitol on Monday, July 1 for a day of rallying and protesting. As the second special session of the Legislature began, activists demonstrated in front of the Capitol, and continued with a march down Congress Avenue.

Pro-choice protestors remained on the steps of the Capitol through the evening, with protest organizer Kristian Caballero encouraging greater activism throughout the second special session. The Texas House State Affairs Committee is expected to hear testimony regarding the proposed abortion legislation on July 2.
