Meet the big winners of the Austin Under 40 Awards for 2017
Austin's young movers and shakers gathered for the big reveal of the 19th annual Austin Under 40 Awards Saturday, April 1, at the JW Marriott. The annual black-tie affair celebrates Austin's emerging leaders, as well as their mentors.
Fifteen category winners were announced from an impressive pool of 80 nominees who were selected for their career achievements and contributions to the community. Additionally, a new Austinite of the Year was crowned.
That honor went to SaulPaul, of Musician with a Message and ReRoute Music Group, who also won the Arts, Media, and Entertainment category. More than a performer, SaulPaul's mission is to engage youth audiences through interactive music to produce positive results. He encourages “education not incarceration” for at-risk youth.
All proceeds from Austin Under 40 Awards benefit the Young Men's Business League's Austin Sunshine Camps, as well as the the Young Women's Alliance Foundation, which provides academic scholarships to young women in Central Texas.
