What: The third annual GeneroCity Awards hosted by Austin Gives
Where: Hilton Austin
The lowdown: Austin's philanthropic community gathered on January 8 to celebrate three local businesses dedicated to outstanding community outreach. Hosted by KEYE-TV anchors Hema Mullur and Walt Maciborski, the luncheon honored South Texas Money Management, Yellow Cab Austin and Silicon Labs for providing financial support and in-kind donations to nonprofits throughout the Austin area.
Guests were treated to a keynote address by musician Ray Benson. During the ceremony, Benson discussed his involvement in various nonprofits, including the Rhythm and Blues Foundation, the SIMS Foundation, the Texas chapter of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, and the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians.
