KVUE -- The Austin Humane Society is full of pets who need a good home just in time for the holidays.
Officials with AHS say their Home for the Holidays program offers reduced or waived adoption fees for many pets. The special kicked off in early December and so far 158 animals have found homes. The shelter still remains at capacity due to a huge intake of animals in their care.
“We are happy to see so many lovable animals find forever homes,” said AHS Executive Director Frances Jonon.
“What we need now is for potential adopters to come to our shelter before the holiday and visit the animals still in our care. These pets have so much love to share, and it’s a perfect time to welcome a new addition to the family.”
