The midcentury marvel on Ridge Oak Drive is not only a design lover's dream, but it includes a striking addition by Stan Haas, one of the architects behind the Long Center.
For more than a decade, the Long Center has been an Austin landmark, a testament to the city's love of the performing arts — and modern architecture. The current incarnation of the building opened in 2008 following an extensive renovation at the hands of architect Haas, then of Nelsen Partners, an Austin-based firm.
Built in 1964, the four-bedroom, four-and-one-half-bath home is now available for $3.25 million. The property sits on a 0.46-acre lot at 5204 Ridge Oak Dr. and includes a second story addition by Haas.
Comprised, in part, of glass and steel, the addition appears to be "floating" above the beautiful pool and patio area.

"The floating addition by architect Stan Haas provides a luxurious office suite with living and conference areas. It also incorporates exterior tile recycled from the Long Center renovation project."

Though Haas is arguably one of the architects behind modern-day Austin, he now lives in Virginia, where he is a professor at Virginia Tech.
