Massive ranch just 15 minutes from downtown Austin zooms onto market for $7 million
A 127-acre, resort-style ranch located a mere 15 minutes from downtown Austin is zooming onto the market for nearly $7 million.
The rustic ranch is at 4301 FM 973 in Del Valle, near Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and the Circuit of The Americas racetrack. Owned by former Dell president and CEO Kevin Rollins, the property features a 5,075-square-foot residence with two bedrooms (including a master suite with leather-covered walls), two-and-a-half bathrooms, wood-beam ceilings, pecan floors, and sweeping views of mature trees.
The ranch also includes a 1,575-square-foot barn, a resort-quality pool with a two-bedroom cabana and a tower waterslide, and over one mile of frontage along Onion Creek.
“Having the perfect blend of calm privacy and a prime location close to the city and the airport have proven to be of indispensable value, but I’ve also always been fascinated with the elaborate details and quality craftsmanship throughout this remarkable home. It’s been the ideal, peaceful retreat, and I hope that someone will cherish it as I have,” Rollins says in a release.
The home, designed by Austin's star architect David Webber, was built in 2005. In 2014, it was a featured stop on the prestigious AIA Hill Country Homes Tour.
TexasLand.com, led by DMTX Realty Group’s Dave Murray and Josh Smith, has the $6,995,000 listing for the ranch. DMTX is affiliated with Coldwell Banker United Realtors in Austin.
Murray describes the Rollins spread as “a very high-end luxury ranch that offers extensive entertainment amenities, both indoors and outdoors.”
Rollins left Dell in 2007 following an 11-year career with the Round Rock-based tech company. He now lives in Massachusetts with his wife, Debra. Over the years, the couple have contributed to a number of philanthropic causes, including Austin’s Long Center for the Performing Arts and Brigham Young University’s business school.
