Get a taste of East Austin's best restaurants for less than $10 at new summer dining series
If you’ve ever wanted a taste of the east side, now’s your chance. An exciting weekly dining series, Eat East, showcases a slew of fine cocktails and innovative appetizers from the East Side’s favorite restaurants. Participating eateries include laV, The Hightower, Gardner, Spartan Pizza, Buenos Aires Café and more.
The engaging event was created by Chad Dolezal and Victor Farnsworth, co-owners of The Hightower. The culinary duo launched the summer special to highlight the extraordinary cuisine of Austin’s fastest-growing culinary neighborhood.
Since opening The Hightower last year, Dolezal and Farnsworth have fallen in love with the neighborhood and its diverse establishments and culinary personalities.
“We wanted to create something to encourage the Austin community to experience the growing restaurant and bar scene of East Austin,” Farnsworth said. “We've enjoyed getting to know our neighbors on East Sixth and Seventh streets and believe that this summer dining series will further develop the food scene in the area.”
Eat East runs Tuesdays through Labor Day. The food and drink specials range from $8-$10, and exact offerings can be found on the participating restaurants’ social media pages.
