A new nonstop international flight is scheduled to take off from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. On Wednesday, Condor Airlines announced that it will launch service from Austin to Frankfurt, Germany next year.
Beginning in June 2016, the European airline will provide seasonal flights between the two cities. "Once in Frankfurt, passengers can connect to basically any major destination in Europe," said Ralf Teckentrup, managing director of Condor Airlines.
The nonstop flights between Austin and Frankfurt be offered Mondays and Thursdays from June 27, 2016 through September 1, 2016. Passengers will leave Austin at 7:55 pm and land in Frankfurt at 1:10 pm the following day. Those traveling from Frankfurt will depart at 1:25 pm and arrive in Austin at 5:55 pm. Round-trip ticket prices range from $460-$1,070.
"Visitors — both leisure and business — from Germany currently represent one of our top overseas inbound markets and we know that this flight will definitely increase that number," said Bob Lander, president and CEO of the Austin Convention and Visitor's Bureau.
This is the second nonstop flight from ABIA to Europe. British Airways' successful nonstop service from Austin to London launched in spring 2014.
