Talk Fast and Drink Coffee
Gilmore Girls to reunite for ATX Television Festival
Put down that cup of coffee, slap on a backwards cap and grab your old Hep Alien CDs because the Gilmore Girls are reuniting — and it's happening in Austin.
Stars Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel will join creator, executive producer and writer Amy Sherman-Palladino for the annual festival which will be held June 4-7, 2015. "There'll be coffee, right?" asked Graham in the most perfect press release ever. "So after years of peace and quiet these lunatics have chosen to get the chattiest chicks in the world back under one roof?" countered Sherman-Palladino. "Really? Okay. You asked for it."
The cast will reunite 15 years after the show premiered on the WB, a disturbing fact for many people who watched the show when it originally aired. Though the press release didn't elaborate on what the "girls" will be doing at the festival, we would like to wildly speculate and say we have our fingers crossed for movie announcement. (If it's not a movie announcement, that's okay. We can also help write it because we have a lot of feelings about where Luke and Lorelei are and what Rory is doing now.)
If you haven't seen the cult classic, abandon all your plans. The show recently released all seven seasons on Netflix so you have plenty of time to catch up before June. Who are we kidding, you'll be done with your Gilmore binge by mid-December.
Not to be outdone, Dawson's Creek will also be staging a reunion, albeit without the stars of the show. (Wow, that show made a lot of people famous.) Dawson's Creek creator Kevin Williamson, showrunner Greg Berlanti, and producers/writers/assistants Jenny Bicks, Julie Plec, Rob Thomas, Liz Tigelaar, Paul Stupin, Rina Mimoun, Maggie Friedman, Anna Fricke, and Dana Baratta will all be in attendance.
The ATX Television Festival is held every year in downtown Austin. Weekend badges are currently $175 and can be purchased here. For more information, head to the ATX Television Festival website.
